Navigating Casebook and Indigent Care

If your patient does NOT have insurance coverage, you can follow the steps below to guide your patients on how to access funds for specialty care, please follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1 – Verify

Does your patient have a legal status in the US?

In order to qualify for Casebook or indigent care funding patients are required to be legal residents of Galveston/Brazoria county for >6 months. Some of the immigration status that may qualify for Casebook funding includes Citizenship, Permanent Resident, green card holder, Visa, and and TPS. If patient does NOT meet this requirement, they will NOT qualify for County Indigent Program or UTMB Charity Care.

Unfortunately, if your patient does not have a legal status in the US, they do NOT qualify for County Indigent Program or UTMB Charity Care.
