St. Vincent’s Update: Now Offering FIT Testing for Eligible Patients!

We are excited to announce that St. Vincent’s Clinics is once again offering Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT) for all patients who qualify! This simple, non-invasive test is an important tool in the early detection of colorectal cancer, and we are committed to ensuring our patients have access to vital preventive care.

According to the American Cancer Society’s guidelines, regular screening plays a key role in reducing the risk of colorectal cancer. FIT testing is recommended for individuals at average risk, and if further evaluation is needed, we can assist with a referral for a colonoscopy.

Your Patient Had a Positive FIT or Needs a colonoscopy?
Patients who require a colonoscopy after positive FIT screening—or who qualify for direct referral—can easily be referred by emailing jequicen@utmb.edu for more information.

Financial Assistance Available:
We ask that patients contribute half of the cost of the procedure (~$600) toward their colonoscopy if they are able. If they are unable to pay, please submit a hardship waiver form for committee review—similar to the radiology process—so our team can connect with the patient and determine the best way forward.

If one of your patients may benefit from colorectal cancer screening please ask Paulina, Martha or Julian in clinic!

Together, we can take proactive steps toward better health!
